Make Software Open Source

Post by theToivonen »

Considering that there appear to be no updates since 2021, would any consideration be made to making this software open source?

Is this forum even monitored by the developers anymore? There hasn't been any responses to queries for many many months...

Not sure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am trying to create a tool for the Flipper Zero to simply receive nearby sondes and display the coordinates on the screen and was hoping to review some of this code as a starting point. I know radiosonde_auto_rx is open source, but that is built for SDR receivers and the SX1276 radio on LilyGo LORA boards is much more similar to the CC1101 in the flipper.

Go ahead, do it! I do not own a Flipper zero but it seems like a great exercise and a useful thing for lots of people when not busy stealing cars, LOL!
I suggest you use the rdz code (https://github.com/dl9rdz/rdz_ttgo_sonde) as a starting point. Better yet it might be even easier to directly address bazjo's documentation for RS41s which is really well done (https://github.com/bazjo/RS41_Decoding). I used these docs for writing an RS41 decoder for the Si4432 chip using a Raspberry Pi Pico (https://github.com/buttim/si4432SondeReceiver)

Thank you!! That is incredibly helpful information. I'll be working on the DFM-17 first, since that's pretty much all they fly around here.

Can't be of any help on DFM17s, they're not very common here in Italy. I just got three in one incredibly sunny and lucky day. Where are you located?

Three in one day is very lucky! I'm in the Northeastern US. Here they seem to fly the DFM17 but in other parts of the country they use the RS41.
