Mirko, Aldo,
I am using my Sondy Go with a Lenovo tablet. The display joins my location to the balloon with a red line, but doesn't indicate the true bearing. I discovered that when using an android phone the compass arrow points to the balloon direction, but it appears the tablet is not fitted with a compass, so the arrow doesn't indicate. Could the true bearing be calculated from the known locations and displayed? Thanks Mirko and Aldo for a great project.

I'd love to be corrected and see responses to questions asked on this forum, but it looks like this software is pretty much abandonware at this point. I'd suggest you try some of the open-source alternatives like Trova-La-Sonda or rdz_ttgo_sonde.

V4mq,
Unfortunately if the device is not equipped with a magnetometer it is impossible to establish your orientation with sufficient precision, you could obtain an approximate direction by measuring the various GPS positions but you would always have to be moving. I recommend you use devices equipped with a magnetometer.
